			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Coming in June, kids can Make a Splash and Make Waves @ the library! The children&#8217;s summer reading celebration, Make a Splash! will begin on Tuesday, June 15 for K-2nd grades and Wednesday, June 16 for 3rd-5th grades, from 1:30-2:30 PM. Make a Splash will continue through Wednesday, August 4. Along with the regular fare of stories, crafts and reading incentives, there will be many special programs, including: Miss Frances&#8217; Musical Instruments Sing Along for K-2; Montana Outdoor Science School for 3rd-5th; Storyteller/Naturalist Doc Wild; Magician Kyle Groves; Museum of the Rockies; and children&#8217;s singer-songwriter Copper Tom. </p>
<p>Tweens and teens in 6th -12th grades can Make Waves @ the library on Thursdays 1:30 &#8211; 3 PM, starting June 17 through July 22. Each week there will be fun events, including a Sidewalk Chalk Art Splash, Fun in the Sun Crafts, Storyteller/Naturalist Doc Wild, Life&#8217;s a Beach Party, an L-Town Treasure Hunt, and Summer 2010 Water Olympiad Finale! Additionally, the Teen Beach Bum Book Club will meet Friday afternoons on June 25, July 9, July 16, and July 23. Discussion titles are <em><strong>Found</strong></em> by Margaret Haddix Peterson, <strong><em>Keeper</em></strong> by Kathi Appelt, <strong><em>The Red Kayak</em></strong> by Priscilla Cummings, and <strong><em>They Came From Below</em></strong> by Blake Nelson. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Flutes and Friends, a Bozeman Symphony ensemble, will perform at the Livingston-Park County Public Library on Sunday afternoon, May 2 at 3:00 PM.
<p>The ensemble is composed of five professional flutists who perform on many instruments of the flute family, including the concert flute, piccolo, alto flute and bass flute. For certain pieces in their repertoire, the flutists are joined by musicians Jeff Vick and Alan Leech who add a wide range of accompanying instruments such as marimba, vibes, drums, saxophone and bassoon.
<p>Flutes and Friends are part of the Bozeman Symphony&#8217;s Far Afield program, which is funded by the Montana Arts Council, Mountain Sky Guest Ranch, Montana Cultural Trust, Montana Association of Symphonic Orchestras and the Bozeman Symphony.
<p>This free concert, which is brought to Livingston by Friends of the Livingston-Park County Library, will take place in the Bev Steveson Room on the lower level of the Library.&nbsp; </p>

The guest artists include dancer, Sabrina Lee; artist, Marie-Antoinette Kelley; The Incredible Mr. E, the magician; and the Bozeman Symphony PercOrchestra.</p>
<p>&#8220;Express Yourself @ Your Library&#8221; is the teen summer reading theme with workshops taught by various artists on Thursdays, June 18 &#8211; July 23, 1:30-3:00 PM. The featured workshops are: June 18- Film making with Sabrina Lee; June 25- Drawing &amp; Painting Techniques with Marie-Antoinette Kelley; July 9- Creative Writing with Christopher Paolini; July 16- Ballroom dance basics with Kerie Hagler; July 23- Photography with Storrs Bishop. These workshops are free, but pre-registration is required. Book discussion groups will be meeting throughout the summer, as well. There are special events as well. Teen volunteers who are experienced Wii gamers are needed teach older adults how to &#8216;Get Fit Gaming&#8217; with Wii Fit and Sports games. Teens interested in helping need to come to a practice session on Monday, March 9, 4-6PM in the Community Room. The &#8216;Get Fit Gaming&#8217; sessions will run 8 weeks on Wednesday from 4-6PM. On Tuesday, March 10, a texting contest will be held in the Teen Room from 4-4:30PM to see who has the fastest fingers. Prizes will be awarded!&nbsp; Throughout the week, middle schoolers can do some internet scavenger hunting for prizes.&nbsp; See Lisa for details. </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><i>Brisingr</i> author Christopher Paolini will appear at the Library this Sunday, October 26 at 3:00 PM.</p>
<p>Christopher will give a short presentation followed by a book signing and silent auction. Fans of Christopher&#8217;s tales of Eragon and Alagaesia may bring their own copies of <i>Brising</i>r, <i>Eldest</i> and <i>Eragon</i> for Christopher to sign. A limited number of copies of each title will also be available for those who haven&#8217;t already purchased the books.</p>
<p>The silent auction will begin following Christopher&#8217;s presentation and will include specially inscribed copies of <i>Eragon</i>, <i>Eldest</i> and <i>Brisingr </i>as well as <i>Eragon</i> movies and video games and Vroengard Academy T-shirts. The silent auction will end at 5:00 PM.</p>
<p>Door prizes of Brisingr bags and folders will be given away throughout the afternoon, and refreshments will be provided by Friends of the Library.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Tenzin Tenkyon, aka Jim Petersen, a longtime Park County resident, marched 700 miles with the Tibetan People&#8217;s Uprising Movement across northwestern India earlier this year.&#160; He will share photos, video footage and thoughts on his involvement in this historic human rights struggle at the library on Thursday evening, July 17.&#160; The program will begin at 7:00 PM.&#160; Discussion will follow the presentation.</p>
